Quarterly report on Local Government Debt Management: Slightly higher interest rates and continued short capital maturity

The quarterly report “Local Government Debt Management”, which provides an overview of the structure and terms of the Swedish local government sector’s total loan portfolio, has now been updated with new data for the first quarter of 2026. The report shows that the average interest rate has increased slightly compared with the previous quarter, while both capital and interest maturity remain at relatively short levels.

Kommuninvest’s Impact Report for 2025: Green investment projects contribute to nearly 600,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions reduced annually

Kommuninvest today publishes its annual Green Bonds Impact Report for 2025. According to this year’s report, the number of environmental and climate‑oriented investments financed with Green Loans from Kommuninvest continues to increase. The impact report for 2025 includes 748 municipal investment projects financed with Green Loans, an increase from 683 projects in the previous year. The investment projects contribute to 598,644 tonnes of reduced or avoided CO₂ emissions annually.

Kommuninvest issues SEK 3 billion in new bond

Skellefteå Kraft answers three questions on how green financing enables large‑scale electrification of the transport sector

With the help of a Green Loan from Kommuninvest amounting to SEK 763 million, Skellefteå Kraft plans to expand an extensive network of public fast‑charging stations in Sweden and Denmark during 2026 – all powered by 100 per cent renewable electricity from the company’s own wind and hydropower. The initiative comprises more than 1,200 charging points and contributes to accelerating the electrification of passenger transport. We took the opportunity to speak with Robert Andersson, Head of E‑mobility at Skellefteå Kraft, about the initiative and the lessons learned along the way.

Kommuninvest issues SEK 2,5 billion in Green Bond

Kommuninvest has successfully raised SEK 2,5 billion (USD 0,27 billion) through a new Green Bond. This was the first green transaction of the year and was met with strong, well diversified demand from a broad range of leading investors. The bond is denominated in SEK and matures on 9 March 2033.

Annual report 2025: Increased lending volume and continued growth in sustainable financing

Today, 17 February 2026, Kommuninvest i Sverige AB publishes the annual accounts and the annual report for 2025. Kommuninvest’s total lending as of 31 December 2025 amounted to SEK 563.9 billion (545.2) in nominal terms, corresponding to a lending growth rate of 3.4 (6.5) per cent during 2025. Total borrowing at year‑end amounted to SEK 609.2 billion (596.4) in nominal terms.
