Our loan products

At every given opportunity, it shall be possible to identify a loan arrangement at competitive pricing and suited to the financial circumstances of the customer’s organisation. For those focused on sustainability, it is possible to raise loans with a green or social orientation.

Our loan process

As a credit institute, we must meet strict regulatory requirements. Nonetheless, we are always focused on ensuring that the loan process is as flexible as possible. A continuous process is under way to clarify and simplify the process and its various stages.

Skellefteå Kraft answers three questions on how green financing enables large‑scale electrification of the transport sector

news

With the help of a Green Loan from Kommuninvest amounting to SEK 763 million, Skellefteå Kraft plans to expand an extensive network of public fast‑charging stations in Sweden and Denmark during 2026 – all powered by 100 per cent renewable electricity from the company’s own wind and hydropower. The initiative comprises more than 1,200 charging points and contributes to accelerating the electrification of passenger transport. We took the opportunity to speak with Robert Andersson, Head of E‑mobility at Skellefteå Kraft, about the initiative and the lessons learned along the way.

Kommuninvest adjusts pricing

We regularly review our pricing, with the ambition to offer the lowest possible funding cost to our customers. This is in line with our core mission and the owners’ wishes, as clarified in the ownership directive adopted at the Association Meeting in April 2025. It is also essential to ensure that we remain competitive in the market. Keeping prices low over time has delivered significant benefits to the municipal and regional sector since Kommuninvest was founded in 1986.

The price reduction is made possible by lowering the base margin – the part of the price that covers Kommuninvest’s own costs. The other component, our funding cost, will continue to influence customer pricing both upwards and downwards.

The reduction in the base margin will be approximately 4–5 basis points and will apply until further notice. The adjustment will be reflected in the standard price list for all new loans to all customers as of Thursday, 18 December 2025.
